Tethered Rides

A few hot air balloons will offer evening tethered rides, weather permitting. The balloons are tethered to the ground and rise up 30-40ft in the air. It’s a magical experience! Get the chance to meet the pilot and climb inside a hot air balloon! Rides are alway wind and weather dependent for the safely of everyone. Tickets are non-refundable, even due to unfavorable weather. We recommend arriving on the festival grounds two hours prior to sunset (about 5 p.m.).

Tethered ride tickets will be available for purchase ON SITE at the tethered ride ticket TENT next to the tethered ride FIELD marked on our festival MAP! Sales open at approximately 5:00 PM, Friday (5/3/24) and Saturday (5/4/24).
Adults = $25
Children 12 & under = $20

Excited to witness the majestic hot air balloons take flight? Morning flights are slated for Friday and Saturday, subject to weather and wind conditions, typically from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, preceding the festival’s commencement. Stay tuned to WHEP Radio Baldwin 92.5 FM or the WHEP App and follow our Facebook event for real-time updates on flight schedules. Discover specifics on designated launch sites and flight routes to ensure you don’t miss out on this breathtaking sight! 

Launch sites are determined by wind direction, speed, and where they have permission to land.

Additionally, pilots may embark on evening flights at dusk (wind/weather permitting). Pilots meet at 5 PM to discuss weather conditions. Keep tabs on our Facebook page or tune in to WHEP for the latest flight updates!
